Ingredients
  

For the Steak

  • 1 lb 450g steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank work best)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika optional

For the Pasta & Sauce

  • 8 oz 225g pasta (fettuccine, penne, or spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half for a lighter option
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cook the Steak

  • Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).
  • Transfer to a cutting board, tent with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

Step 2: Cook the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add pasta and cook until al dente (check package instructions).
  • Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.

Step 3: Make the Sauce

  • In the same skillet used for steak, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water 1 tbsp at a time.

Step 4: Combine & Serve

  • Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
  • Fold in sliced steak and heat for 1-2 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan.
